Smile | Baltimore Maryland Newborn Photographer

This 6lb beautiful baby girl was a pleasure to photograph. She gave me a mix of awake and sweet sleepiness. Such a beautiful family and such good friends of mine! I have been anxiously awaiting her arrival and I'm glad I took the trip to Baltimore to meet her.

 I love her little smile!

Wide Awake | Bethesda Maryland Newborn Photographer

Baby D stayed wide awake and content for pretty much our entire session. Such a stubborn little guy for a two week old! I think he wanted to be a part of the action. And, I'm so glad he did because I love the shots we got with his amazing eye contact. I can't wait to see him grow over the next year!

A and M - It was great to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Giving Back : Bethesda Maryland Photographer

Last week I had the opportunity to participate in an event that benefitted the Lourie Center and allowed me to give back to the community. The Holiday Giving Concert event at Kidville in Bethesda included a Little Maestros concert, pizza and photos with Santa. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and it was a successful event organized by Onesiesdc.com. Even better, the Lourie center families all received awesome holiday gifts graciously donated by the families of Onesies and Kidville.

The Lourie Center is an early head start program that provides comprehensive, year-round, child and family services to low-income families. Families are linked to community resources such as food, clothing, housing, child care, employment, English classes, health care and mental counseling.

Here are a few of the pictures that I took. Everyone loved meeting Santa!

Happy Holidays!

Mini Sessions Recap : Bethesda Family Photographer

It's been a while since I've posted here and I have lots to catch up on. To start, October's mini sessions were a success! Rachael and I met up with a few wonderful families at Brookside Gardens in the late afternoon for some photos against a gorgeous fall backdrop. It was so great to meet each family and spend some time together, and of course to get some great photos! I loved interacting with all of the kids... they were so cute. I hope to see all of you again soon!

Educational Adventure : Photography Workshop

I want to keep improving my photography skills anyway that I can. Attending workshops led by successful photographers is one way to do this. The workshop I attended this weekend was led by an amazing child and baby photographer, Jodie Otte.  One of the biggest things I learned was how to photograph newborns using studio lighting. Jodie was a great teacher and I learned so much! I am grateful she was so open with her experiences and talent, and willing to share her knowledge. The uber-successful business she has built up is truly something I admire.

It is so important to keep learning and challenging myself so that I can offer clients the best experience and the highest quality work. I’m excited to put what I learned into action for upcoming newborn sessions.

Now the fun part..... Part of the workshop was photographing a newborn client so we could watch Jodie in action.  They were awesome first-time parents and allowed the group to watch their session and take turns photographing their beautiful baby girl. She was the tiniest newborn and SO well-behaved. A sleepy little angel the entire time. Here are a few of the shots that I got:

If you have a newborn on the way, contact me to reserve a date for a newborn session! The best time is when they are between 5 - 10 days old.

Brothers : Studio Session

When I first started shooting in the studio I didn't think I would like it as much as shooting outdoors. Flashes, power sources, ratios and lots of wires didn't sound so fun to me. But the more time I spend in the studio the more I enjoy it. I like the simplicity and I like the control of it. Luckily, I had the chance to meet Mrs. H who wanted studio photos of her two boys. Fabulous! I had a great time meeting them and we had some fun in the studio trying different poses. We even did some shots wearing their favorite soccer jerseys. It was so great to meet you all and I hope you have an amazing time on your summer vacation!

What a Doll : Studio Session

This session was extra special because I finally got to meet Ms. M in person! I've know her mom way to long by now and had yet to meet her baby girl. So I was so glad we were able to coordinate for her one year old photo session.  Ms. M was very well behaved and did a great job. It wasn't hard to get her to smile - she has so much personality! And I think she would have finished the lollipop if we would have let her :)

I love the way the images turned out. Thanks M family for coming to the studio. I had a great time and I hope you like the pictures. More to come soon!

Newborn Photo Session with Baby A

It was so fun to spend the afternoon with this little girl and her parents. Cute Baby A was wide awake and had no intention of going to sleep. We rocked her, fed her, changed her and changed her again (after she peed on daddy!) ... she wouldn't sleep.  But I think we got some great shots anyway! She finally fell asleep near the end of the session when we were able to get a few great family photos. I hope you like your images and I can't wait to watch her grow! She is such a cutie!

look at that eye contact!

love these!
look how teeny tiny her toes are
