Educational Adventure : Photography Workshop

I want to keep improving my photography skills anyway that I can. Attending workshops led by successful photographers is one way to do this. The workshop I attended this weekend was led by an amazing child and baby photographer, Jodie Otte.  One of the biggest things I learned was how to photograph newborns using studio lighting. Jodie was a great teacher and I learned so much! I am grateful she was so open with her experiences and talent, and willing to share her knowledge. The uber-successful business she has built up is truly something I admire.

It is so important to keep learning and challenging myself so that I can offer clients the best experience and the highest quality work. I’m excited to put what I learned into action for upcoming newborn sessions.

Now the fun part..... Part of the workshop was photographing a newborn client so we could watch Jodie in action.  They were awesome first-time parents and allowed the group to watch their session and take turns photographing their beautiful baby girl. She was the tiniest newborn and SO well-behaved. A sleepy little angel the entire time. Here are a few of the shots that I got:

If you have a newborn on the way, contact me to reserve a date for a newborn session! The best time is when they are between 5 - 10 days old.

Beautiful Family : Studio Session

Let me start by saying that the S family are some of the nicest people I have ever met! I would photograph them anytime. They are so easy going and were eager to get some great shots. It must have something to do with the fact that Dad is also a photographer :) We met through my photography school so it was very cool that he asked me to photograph his new family. This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting them at the studio for some family photos - and the images look gorgeous! I'm happy that I was able to capture this special time in their lives.

This one makes me smile :)

I have a few dates available this summer for studio sessions! If you are interested please email me for more info at danielle@daniellesaraphotography.com

New website!

I haven't done a formal post about my new website yet and I feel it is time to make everything official. My website is officially live and I am in business! I love how it turned out and will continue to add photos to the Gallery sections as I build my portfolio. Check it out: http://www.daniellesaraphotography.com/
Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me and giving me the positive feedback I need to keep going!

The past few weeks have been so busy and I have a ton of post processing to catch up on from recent sessions. My goal is to post a sneak peak after each session so you can see the images right away. Hopefully I can stick to that goal.

I am booking sessions for July and August now so please contact me if you are interested!

I can't do a post without a photo so here is a cutie pie from this weekend.

High School Senior Photos

J is a great guy. I had the pleasure of photographing him for some High School Senior portraits. He is a laid back, genuinely nice guy, and is good looking too. J is heading overseas for a year before starting college to experience life in another country. When he returns he will be attending the University of Maryland just like I did...go terps!

We had fun doing some photos with his guitar. He even played me a tune. He has got some skills!

Thanks for putting up with me for two hours! You were a pleasure to work with. I wish you all the best in the future, and in all that you do.

Brothers : Studio Session

When I first started shooting in the studio I didn't think I would like it as much as shooting outdoors. Flashes, power sources, ratios and lots of wires didn't sound so fun to me. But the more time I spend in the studio the more I enjoy it. I like the simplicity and I like the control of it. Luckily, I had the chance to meet Mrs. H who wanted studio photos of her two boys. Fabulous! I had a great time meeting them and we had some fun in the studio trying different poses. We even did some shots wearing their favorite soccer jerseys. It was so great to meet you all and I hope you have an amazing time on your summer vacation!

First Wedding Success : Virginia Beach Wedding

Lise and Mike's wedding was a beautiful beach wedding. The ceremony was on the sand and the party was on the rooftop of a fishing pier... very cool spot! Brandon of Brandon Rossen Photography was awesome enough to ask me to assist him as a second photographer. I didn't think I would enjoy photographing a wedding this much. I guess it was a pleasant surprise because it was so much fun! Lise and Mike -thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of your wedding day!

I loved taking detail shots because it shows how much thought went into making the day so personal.
